This filmmaking workshop offers students a unique behind-the-scenes look at how a scene is brought to life on screen. Participation and engagement are encouraged as students observe professionals in action.

Clara Planelles is a director–writer from Uruguay, based in the west of Ireland since 2020. Her short First Date has been licensed by Disney, HBO Europe, and RTÉ, winning awards including Best Director at the Director London Awards and Best International Comedy at Discover Film Festival, London. Her films have screened at festivals inclu
Clara Planelles is a director–writer from Uruguay, based in the west of Ireland since 2020. Her short First Date has been licensed by Disney, HBO Europe, and RTÉ, winning awards including Best Director at the Director London Awards and Best International Comedy at Discover Film Festival, London. Her films have screened at festivals including Galway Film Fleadh, Newport Beach, and London Irish Film Festival, with nominations such as the Iris Prize (Wales) and a Director’s Spotlight at GAZE Festival, Dublin. She is currently in post-production on We Are Where We Are, an Ireland–UK co-production, and developing her debut feature with Wide Eye Films. She has also produced shorts across Uruguay, Ecuador, Italy, and Ireland.

Short Film Programmer Catalyst 2026. Varun is a film curator based in Manchester, UK. He is Director of New Shorts at London Short Film Festival, Assistant Director of Shorts Programming at Fantastic Fest and Programming Associate for Narrative Shorts at SXSW. He’s also a writer and filmmaker.

Meg is an actor, writer, and director who began performing with LYT before moving to New York to study acting. Her Off-Broadway credits include The Dead, The Plough and the Stars, Shadow of a Gunman, London Assurance, and The Aristocrats at Irish Repertory Theater, and The Two Noble Kinsmen and The Winter’s Tale with The Drilling Company
Meg is an actor, writer, and director who began performing with LYT before moving to New York to study acting. She originated the role of Cathleen Mullin in the world premiere of Thirst at Dorset Theater Festival. Screen credits include Archive 81 (Netflix), Standing Up with Robert De Niro, and Taylor Sheridan’s 1923. She is also a writer and spoken word artist and teaches acting at LCFE

Shane Vaughan is a writer, artist, events coordinator and filmmaker. He has worked as a teacher, videographer, editor, events organiser and is the current Artistic Director of the Limerick St Patrick’s Day parade. Through Big Shots he runs a bi-monthly event for filmmakers, and through Stanzas he held over sixty arts-events (2015-2019).
